Merrill Little League is donating $1,000 to Kissinger Comm. Center fund.
JMac gave Council more details on proposed condos on east half of Civic
Center ground. Council approved resolution to declare area
surplus.
Council approved 2009-2010 audit.
$57.55 balance in tree fund will be applied to mini-park improvements.
Building permits were approved for Larry’s Auto; building, D. Juelfs, fence; J Kounkel, fence.
Schlotfeldt bill will be on next agenda.
Update on Kissinger building was given.
March Receipts: $53,521.34. Disb: $70,437.77

PRAIRIE BLOOMS GARDEN CLUB will have their annual plant sale May 14 in downtown Merrill.
YOUR AMERICAN LEGION
The Legion sponsored “A Fun Night” Friday, April 16. They served
snacks, had new Bingo cards and very nice prizes. LESS TAN 50
PEOPLED ATTENDED. WHERE WERE YOU? Everyone that attended had a
fun night. Let’s come out and support you local Legion Club.

YOUTH
SOFTBALL practices begin May 10, with games starting May 22 and
continuing through June 23. Games and practices will be held in
the evening on the ball field behind Kissinger school. Concession
stand is open each game night.

“SPOTLIGHT”
DOUG PREWITT
Doug Prewitt was born in the Sioux City area, but moved to Merrill in
the early ‘60s. He graduated from LCHS in 1967.
Doug and his wife, Edie, have two children, Aaron, who lives in Sheldon
and Jessica, from Spencer. They are also the proud grandparents
of five granddaughters, aging from 10 to 3 months.
Doug retired from the Sioux City Comm. Schools June 3, 2010.
Although he worked several jobs, he retired as a plumber.
Doug is past commander of the American Legion Post 125 and remains very active in that group.
Merrill is fortunate that Doug volunteered his expertise at the
Kissinger Community Center working more than 100 hours.
If Doug has any spare time, he enjoys gardening, hunting and
fishing. He also helps his brothers in law on the farm.

Hours
are Wednesday 3:00 – 8:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. DO
NOT ask to have it opened at other times. The only exception is
for a scheduled total tree removal.
NO TIRES – NO PLASTIC BAGS –
NO DUMPING OVER THE FENCE. If we continue to have a problem, the
landfill will be closed. We need your help. If you see
someone in violation, please contact us.
